Hello Stephan,
There is no support for OS/2 or POSIX programs in Windows XP. The Portable
Operating System for UNIX (POSIX) subsystem is not included with Windows
XP. The POSIX subsystem has been replaced with a more UNIX-like (but still
POSIX) environment called Interix. Interix is a superset of the original
POSIX subsystem with more functionality. Interix is a more complete UNIX
environment.
For additional information about Interix, visit the following Microsoft Web
site:

This information is contained in a publicly accessible article in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base. You can refer to 308259 OS/2 and POSIX Are Not
Supported in Windows XP (

Sincerely,
Jeffrey L. Wade
