How do I disable the http:// in the address bar. When I copy a short cut and paste it the http:// inserts itself and hence I cannot go to the link. Specifically if I play bridge and the room is full I copy an open room , paste the link in the address bar, change the room number. But when I click enter http:// inserts itself thereby giving an error message URL not found. Can anyone advise me on this. I am but a novice to computing. I run windows XP Home IE 6.0 on a HP ze4540us lap top. Thanks.

What exactly are you pasting in? If you are pasting anything that contains
<protocol>:// at the beginning, it shouldn't do this. Usually this is a
problem if it needs https:// and you only paste in the rest of the URL, it
guesses it at http://.
