Existing PC with Win2000-Pro and Win98 multi booted via
PQMagic.

Installed WinXP-Pro and added to PQMagic.

When I select WinXP option I then get the WinXP Dual Boot
screen to select between XP and 98.

How can I disable this facilty? I prefer PQMagic and WinXP
hasn't yet found that Win2000 was already installed.

Edit your Boot.ini file and remove the item that you dont want to show up on your Dual Boot Scree

go to ru

star

C:\boot.in

once thats done save the file..
restart and its done.

my first suggestion is to make a copy of the boot.ini name it something else just incase it doesnt work and u can go back to i
so name it like boot2.in

good luck.

You can also do this via the GUI.

Manually edit the boot.ini by right clicking My Computer, choosing
properties and then the advanced tab.
Choose the settings button for startup and recovery.
Click on the Edit button.
Make sure the default OS is XP.

Hi John,

Go to Start/Run and type in: msconfig
Then go to the Boot.ini Tab and click on Check All Boot Paths. If you
receive a warning about a duplicate path: Do you want to remove, choose
yes.

Or...

Right click the My Computer icon/Properties/Advanced/Startup and
Recovery/Settings/System Startup/Edit.
