I have windows mail with vista. I get an email, open it and maybe reply.
The email address of the sender is automatically saved in contacts, the
address book. I don't want every darn address in my book. Especially since
you have to search thru the whole contact list to find the address when you
want to send an email, the more addresses there are in the book, the more of
a pain it is. How can I turn off this function and only save the addresses I
want to save (I know how to do that). Thanks! :)

Tools | Options | Send
Uncheck 'Automatically save addresses ...'.

Tools - Options - Send
[ ] Automatically put people I reply to in my Contacts list
ok

Windows Live Mail only does this after you reply 3 times.

Thank you so much!!
I have been trying to figure this out since I got my computer almost a year
ago!
Microsoft needs to make the options more simple; I'm really a Mac person,
and Windows Vista is confirming my decision to always use Macs after my
current computer. I know Windows 7 is better, but not as good as a Mac.
