i have been encountering big delays while starting windows 2000 (which was smooth few days before) and it also take long time to open 'my computer'. I believe there are some files installed by any program (not certain it can be a virus) into the windows directory

I want to know is there any method or tool that can list the extra files in my windows 2000 folder(including subfolders). So that i can delete and make my operating system as new( like reinstalled one)

Unless you know precisely what yr doing I would'nt reccommend deleting files
in the Win folder - they are probably used by other apps/hardware, as well
as win.
What is in the win folder also depends on what Apps and hardware is on yr
sys.
Better to have a decent AV app, or run an online scan from eg Symantec or
McAfee
Download, update, then run both Adaware and SpyBot - google for -
Install a decent Firewall, ZoneAlarm is free.
Run Disk Cleanup
