Hi, I am using XP Home. I crated two users with administrator permission.
Late I found its inconvenient as I have to chose which user to login every
time I start the computer. I tried to delete one user, I even reduced one
user permission to limited, but still impossible to delete the user.

What can I do to delete one user and leave only one user? Or, how can I just
let one user directly login without ask me which user to login?

Thanks!

The following advice will make you able to automatically log on:

1. Go to Start > Run > Type "control userpasswords2" (without the quots)
2. Select the user you wish to automatically log on as (just click the name
once)
3. Uncheck the box next to "Users must enter a user name and password to use
this computer."
4. Press OK.

WARNING: Using the "control userpasswords2" user account management applet
to adjust anything else (such as adjusting account permissions from
Administrator to Limited or Power User might cause major problems. Use this
account management applet for only adjusting auto login. To adjust any other
account settings, open the User Accounts applet from the Control Panel.

Hey GZ,

Just go to start > control panel > user accounts and remove the user. You
may also have downloaded .NET framework which will also make you choose which
user to log in even if there is only one user. You can get arround this by
going here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Download Tweak UI on the right(probably not the itanium based one)

Install it and run it from start > all programs > powertoys for windows xp.
click + next to logon > click autologon > checkmark logon automatically box
enter your credentials for the account you want to log on with and there
you go. Good Luck.

To delete a user you need to be logged in to another admin user. Go to
Start | Help and Support and search on delete user.

To autologon to a specific account:

1. Go to Start | Run and type in: control userpasswords2 | Ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password
To Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user
name and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you
start your computer.

You can accomplish the same thing by:

Download and install tweakui for xp and use its auto logon feature.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Lastly you can add the Dialog box that comes up when running control
userpasswords 2 to the Control Panel with the following tweak:

Add Control User Passwords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)
