How to Delete Read Only Files?

I cannot delete files on my writable CDs. The error message indicates the file is read only. I try to change the file attribute but Windows does not allow me. Help?

Writable CDs or re-writable? CD/R is write once. No delete option
available. CD/RW: If you are using XP's burning feature, you can erase the
entire CD/RW and rewrite its contents. It will not let you add/subtract
single files on the fly. Third party burning software that does "packet
writing" is needed. InCD from aHead (Nero) or DiskAtOnce from Roxio are
examples of the packet writing software that allows you treat CD/RWs as if
they were floppy disks.
