how to delete one network out of control panel

in my control panel i have 2 network connection icons ..how do i delete one
without screwing up the actual network..i am trying to avoid having to
reformat my hard drive..any help please..cause i really think this is the
interferance that is giving me a hard time with my internet ..any
help..please e-mail me with a walkthrough anyhting pls cause i don't know if
i could find my way back here sounds blondish but

are both of these identical?
if so, do a search in the \windows\system32\ folder for 'ncpa.cpl' (network
control panel applet) if you see more than one, then remove the extra one,
probably numbered. i recommend you move the file to a safe place (your
desktop) for now, until you're sure removing it from the control panel will
not cause a problem. you can easily put it back if you remove the wrong
one.

note - the control panel must be closed before you can remove .cpl files
reformat my hard drive..any help please..cause i really think this is the
