How to delete individual file from a CD-RW?

I burned several files to a CD-RW. Now I no longer want one of them and
would like to free up some room on the disk.

However the only option given is "Erase this CD-RW". I have tried just
hitting the delete key once I highlighted the individual file but it says
it's read-only. Even changing the attrib's in the prop page wont allow me
to delete.

Is there somewhere I can tell XP to not finalize the CD-RW when burning?

TIA,

Todd

No, XP does not support "packet writing", natively. You need an application
such as InCD from Ahead Software, or Direct CD from Roxio.

Hi Todd

You would need a more sophistocated packet writing utility than XP give you
for that. (They are also more troublesome in terms of problems.) HP gives
away the DLA utility with it's CR-RW drives. DirectCD from Roxio is another.
Either of those let you delete individual files.

DirectCD was the only software I found which would put my Windows 2000
system into a blue screen every single time I used it.

Good luck,

S
