I typed a document that was 3 pages and edited it to 2. The third page,
blank, is still a part of the document. How can I delete it?

which application are you using and which OS?

I am using XP Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3.
I used Microsoft Works Word Processor to create the document and saved to My
Documents. Internet Explorer is the default web browser with Windows Live
Hotmail

I would ask the experts in a Works newsgroup, e.g.
microsoft.public.works.win.

This would be better asked on a Word newsgroup.

The chances are that your document contains line feeds or possibly page
breaks that follow the existing text. Click the '¶' (papragraph symbol if
the symbol gets converted) to see these features.
