Like probably most of you on the WEB, I have been deluged
with an incredible amount of SPAM. I immediately send them
to my "Block Senders List" (BSL) in Outlook Express. Over
the last few months I have accumilated many hundreds of
undesirable addresses on this list. It has now begun to
slow down my system each time I attempt to add another to
this ever-growing list. I know I can delete, individually,
older aquired SPAM addresses but with the number I have
accumilated that would take practically forever.
Where in the Registry or elsewhere can I delete the
contents of this file and start the BSL all over again?
I am using XP HE/SP1.

Hi Harold,

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{GUID}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook
Express\5.0\Block Senders

If you care to save the key before selectively deleting entries: Right
click on the Block Senders subkey and select Export.

Once you have it cleared, you might try a new anti-spam program, free
under GNU license, which uses Bayesian filtering.

Diverts mail identified as spam to its own recycle bin where you can
check on it and also is well configurable so you can identify positive
friends and definite black sources as well as using the filters at
various sensitivities

Works with Outlook2000/XP OE6, Netscape , Eudora; Pegasus; Opera;
Mozilla; Pegasus; Phoenix. But *not* Agent. POP3 only, so no
Hotmail/AOL and at present not IMAP

Thank you all for your input concerning the Block Senders
List. I was able to edit the appropriate REGISTRY Key
entry and delete the more than 600 SPAM addresses
accumulated in less than a month!
I also downloaded "SpamAssasin" from SAproxy which has so
far proven quite effective in recognizing SPAM and
sending it to a special SPAM folder and out of my
mailbox. This software is also currently free!
