how to de-install XP

Help!! I forgot my password for my user screen, I didn't
make a rtecovery disk and i dont have an administration
user so Microsoft is telling me i have to re-install XP.
That's all fine and well, but how do i de-install the one
i have now? I don't want all of that on there and i know
it can be done...please someone respond ASAP I leave for
college in 2 days and I need this!!!
 
Hi,

Boot the WinXP CD, start a new installation. You can format the system as
part of the operation.

Boot, hitting F8 as the BIOS info goes to black, and from the menu take
Safe Mode. There you will be able to log in with the user name called
explicitly Administrator, which is reserved for emergencies. In it,
Start - Run the line
control userpasswords2
and you can select any user account and Reset Password
