Hi Everyone,
I am not planning on doing anything illegal. I was just
trying to get deep into Windows and see how everything
fits together and I wanted to know how I can customize the
Build information on a windows desktop. I have discovered
how to Display the Current build number on the desktop by
changing a registry value, however I would like to know
where that registry gets its information from. By setting
the registry value from 0 (default) to 1, I can see the
version build info and the type of opperating system. I
want to learn where this information is contained so I can
call it when I develop any applications rather than hard
coding this type of information. I know there are several
solutions to this question, but I am particualarly
interested in finding out where this registry entry gets
its information to display the build details on the
desktop. Thank you for your help.
