In Word 97, you used to be able to copy all track changes/comments/etc. from
the Reviewing pane and paste them into a new Word document. However, this
doesn't work now (word 2002) - you can't copy all the contents of the
Reviewing Pane using CTRL-A and CTRL-C (paste results are junk). Can print
list of markup to paper but need these in a file to send via email.

Is there anyway in Word 2002 to copy and paste all track
changes/comments/ect. from the Reviewing pane into a new word document?

One approach you might try: Change the printer to Generic/Text Only, set
"Print what" to "List of markup," and check the "Print to file" box. Change
the .prn extension of the resulting file to .txt and open in Word.

When I try to open the file, I get a file conversion box asking me to select
the encoding. The file opens in word, but is hard to read as there are large
amounts of white space between the text (words are split and on different
lines). Is there a specific encoding option that I should select, or an
option I need to set to get the file to open so it is readible? This is for
our legal area who have been very vocal about the changes from word 97 to
word 2002. They feel that they have lost functionality and that it is more
complicated to do what they did before. I've spent the last week addressing
all the issues they've had since going to XP last week. I've found some
processes that they've been satisified with so any suggestions on resolving
this issue are appreciated.

I'm afraid I've already told you more than I actually know; perhaps someone
more knowledgeable can chime in?
