Hi,

Could someone suggest the best way to convert the contents of the local
outlook news/mail folders into text files?

The idea, of course, is to avoid manually editing each and every message.

Thnx,

Andre

Install Mozilla Thunderbird and import the mail folders. Thunderbird uses
the MBox format for mail folders which is just a text file.

BTW, Outlook doesn't DO news. What "news" folders are you talking about?

Thanks HTH,

Sounds like I was not exact enough. I am working with OutlookExpress under
Windows XP. It DOES do news. I wonder if your advice still holds true in
this circumstance?

Yes, but I don't think that Thunderbird will import "News" folders. If you
want text files, just use Thunderbird for your news reader!
