how to convert drom Domain to WorkGroup on XP Pro

Hi all

I want to change 2 PCs from being part of a Domain to being part of a WorkGroup

Reason is that I am going to get rid of the PC running NT Server cause I can't afford to upgrade it

So I am going peer to peer which is OK in this home office

Problem is that when I tried this, I ended up with a new user profile and therefore lost a bunch of settings that were tied to the profile that I used to set up the machine and install all the software. Apparently a lot of the software I installed were referenced to the original profile and not "All Users.

Reloading all these software programs is not practical

Log on as the local administrator. Use System Properties, Advanced, User
Profiles. Copy the old profile to the profile to the new user. Note: If
the new user is the adminstrator, you'll need to create a second admin
account to do this.
