I have a 2 PC home network. My printer is attached to 1 of the 2 computers
and is shared for use by the other. I have an old Micron PC in the basement
that I would like to put on the network and use as a print server and
possibly use its hard drive as an additional resource for backing up the 2
main computers. I will not be using the Micron for any other purpose, so
there is no need for anything other than what's in the cabinet. I'd like to
stick the Micron cabinet in a corner somewhere and connect it to my router
and the printer. I would prefer not to attach a monitor to it even though I
still have it's old monitor. If I'm only using it in such a limited way, is
there someway to configure my network so, if necessary, I can control the
Micron from one of the 2 main computers without compromising their
performance? Or, do I just connect the monitor and make it easy on myself?
Thanks
