I have already posted this message but after about 2
hours have not seen it appear on the message board. I
have a broadband connection and have refreshed a few
times but no luck, therefore my apologies if this is a
repeat post.

Please could someone tell me how to change the path that
the Windows folders (My Pictures, My Music, My Documents
etc) use. I do not want to use third party software.

This must be possible, I have tried looking for the
answer but have come up with nothing.

Your help is greatly appreciated as always.

Regards,

Frans

Download and install TweakUI:

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP (TweakUI)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

After installing, go to Start > Programs > PowerToys for Windows XP >
TweakUI. Expand "My Computer" and click on "Special Folders".
You can easily change the location of the "My Pictures" folder there.

Actually all you have to do is drag the My Pictures folder to the location
you want it. This will then become the default path (for your account only
of course). Make sure that you move the folder rather than just copying it;
the easiest way is to drag with the right mouse button and choose "move
here".

Use regedit and locate
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders\My Pictures"
