Well, I need to set a new path for the customize option "change icon"; its
default path "%systemroot%\system32\shell32.dll" is useless for me, I had a
folder called "icons", from where I get all my icons. However, it's a boring
task to get there every time I have to change one; so any suggestions?

I do not think that ths can be changed, the path and filename seems to
be hardcoded in Windows.
