How to change Norton Antivirus so it will let other apps work?

1) Thinks it's a virus, how do I stop it from thinking that?

2) Wont let the application connect to the internet.

I turned norton off and the applications worked perfectly, so I know it's
Norton. Thanks for the help =-)
