This is caused by Google Desktop Search or by the Google Toolbar.
Uninstall/reinstall the Google Desktop Search / Google toolbar should fix
the problem.

Windows® XP Troubleshooting

I have a very strange situation and have tried everything I can find via
search engines and still no luck. The problem is that somehow, the title
bar
no longer displays the name of url with "Microsoft Internet Explorer" in
Windows XP Pro. In it's place is just a single letter. If you click on a
link within the page, the title bar changes to the lower case letter. I
have
gone through the registry and cannot find the title "window title." I added
this string and still the same thing happens. I downloaded and used the
suggested title bar editor and I can't get it to change the bar. I also
used
the other suggestion "rundll32 iedkcs32.dll,BrandCleanInstallStubs" and it
didn't work either. HELP! What has happened and how do I fix it?

Thanks, Charlie

Hi Jason,
Type this command in Start/Run dialog:
rundll32 iedkcs32.dll,BrandCleanInstallStubs
Note: This clears all the ISP branding. ISP branding includes custom
Toolbar background image, Default Page URL, Window Title, Search Bar,
customized Search URL, customized Support URL in the Help menu, customized
menu option for Windows Update [Tools menu].
If you want to selectively remove/reset the IE Window Title, see:
