No sure how I got into here, but in any event in my taskbar I have the
"Safely Remove Hardware" icon in place. If I click on it it will remove my
roadrunner network modem, which obviously I do not want.
I've tried right clicking it and nothing - I stupidl;y clicked on it and it
removed the modem - had to go back to syatem restore to get it back.
I simply want to STOP a previous command to remove that device.
Any ideas
Thanks
Mike

Hi Recordman
The "Safely Remove Hardware" icon will popup anytime you insert a USB
device. It's normal, It will allow you to shut down a device like a
usb flash drive so you can remove it from its slot. I wouldn't worry
about it. Just don't shut down your modem. A reboot or just plugging
in the modem should have been all it takes to restore it. System Restore
seems a little extreme.

I had numerous annoyances when using the USB for RR. I went
and bought a 10/100/1000 Ethernet card NIC and a 1 meter RJ45
patch cable. VIOLA
