I had Win2k installed but it was damaged (keep rebooting
during startup) so I also installed Win XP (unfortunately
I didn't do partition) and it works fine except that I
can't play sound anymore (Sound device worked fine when
Wind2k was working, but now under system device folder
from Wind XP, it says no audio device). What should I do
to bring audio device back? I am thinking to reformat
hardware and make a clean installation of Wind XP but I am
not sure whether it can detect audio device and any other
devices automatically during new install...
Please help! Thank you very much!

Rockie,

install the audio driver. First I would go to
windowsupdate.microsoft.com and let it detect whether they have
a fresh audio driver. If not, download the latest audio driver
from the manufacturer of the computer, of the motherboard, of
the sound board, or of the sound chip, and install it.
