how to backup windows update files

Is it possable to make a backup off all the updates that windows update
downloads, so that If i have to format and reinstall xp, I dont have to
download all those updates again ?
 
All updates are in service packs, whatever comes after that, would
have to be downloaded. I think there is a way to download for admin,
each update, but with high speed lines now, why bother?
