windows users aren't very secure!

Thanks in anticipation :)

This is not a Windows issue. Any computer running any operating system
can be gotten into by someone with physical access+time+skill+tools.

However, there are some things your friend can do:

1. Set passwords in the BIOS. He should set one for loading the
operating system and one for getting into the BIOS itself.

2. From the BIOS, change the boot order to hard drive first.

3. Set strong passwords in Windows, including the built-in Administrator
account. Make the child's account Limited (or User if XP Pro).

4. The last thing is to realize is that the basic issue is not a
technical one but a parenting problem. If the child does not obey the
parent there need to be consequences. This cannot be done with a
technical solution.

Have him configure a password for his BIOS setup. I assume that is what you
are talking about?

Appreciate your answers guys :). I'll try the bios route.
