How to associate files with Word 2007?

I know how to use control panel to change file associations but Word 2007
isn't in the list of available programs (it is on my computer, I use it all
the time). The files can be opened after starting Word 2007 but if Word 2007
isn't running and I double-click on a .doc file it will not start Word 2007.

I need to know where to "browse" to find the program file that will open
Word 2007.

Unless you changed the location during Office installation, it's
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\WinWord.exe

Running Word with the /r switch should repair the association. That's
usually the best way since it can fix other things as well.
