I'm have been trying to activate ICS but to no avail.
Where do I go because I sure don't see it when I go the
internet connections advance tab. All I see there is the
firewall.

What am I doing wrong?

My huseband has A Media center XP and his has ICS as a
different panel then the firewall.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate.

Maritza,

You use ICS for sharing an internet connection that is directly connected to a
given computer, that has a separate LAN connection. That is typically a
computer with either a dialup modem, or a USB modem, directly connected to the
computer, AND an additional network connection. If and only if your computer
has these two network connections defined under Network Connections, you will
see ICS as an option.

If you're looking to share your husband's Media Center internet connection,
simply configure your computer (Local Area Connection Properties - Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties) - to "Obtain an ip address automatically" and to
"Obtain DNS server address automatically". If your husband's computer is
correctly configured, and is online, your computer will get the correct settings
that will automatically let it connect to the internet.

Remember that your husband's MC computer must now be operational anytime you
wish to access the internet from your computer. For some discussion about the
various ways to share your internet access, see these websites:

Chuck
