How to access .wps files in XP

I recently had my computer upgraded from ME to XP. Now I
cannot open and word docs in XP that were previously saved
in ME as .wps files. I tried to open it with Windows and
Notepad and neither worked. Does anyone have any ideas?

*.wps files are not Word documents; they are files created by
Microsoft Works. To open the files, install Works.
