How to access files on another computer of a workgroup

I do not need local security in my LAN and it is a nuisance. Under Windows
2000 I never used a password (Had null passwords) and was able to access any
file from any computer. What do I have to do to access any file from any
computer Under Windows XP. I am in trouble after upgrading to Win-XP. I
already turned off firewall.
