Now my PC was using Win XP Pro and have no idea why I cannot find the file or folder on the taskbar after minimize. That's abnormal from my experience after window update during this few weeks. But I'm already make sure to turn on the check box from the taskbar appearance in control panel

PS: Is the window security update problem?

Please let me know how to fix it......thanks

Hi,

I understand that the minimized windows do not appear in task bar.

Please follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Solution 1:

This problem may occur if the profile is corrupted. To narrow down this
issue, please test the computer behavior by creating a new user of the
system:

1. Click Start -> Control Panel (or Start -> Settings -> Control Panel)
2. Click User Accounts. (Or double click User Accounts)
3. Click Create a new account.
4. Type "test" as the account name and click Next.
5. Make sure 'Computer Administrator" has been checked and click "Create
Account".
6. Restart the computer.
7. Logon with the newly created account "test" and check if the issue
persists in this new user account.

If the issue is resolved, you can transfer the files and settings of the
old user to the new user by following the steps below:

Step one: You need to be logged in under the old account.

a. Click Start, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click
"Files and Settings Transfer Wizard".
b. Click Next, click Old Computer, and then click Next.
c. Select OTHER and BROWSE to the Desktop and Make a New Folder on your
Desktop that we will transfer the files and settings to. Call the folder
"migration", and click OK, then click Next.
d. Select the appropriate option for the items that you want to transfer:
- "Settings only"
- "Files only"
- "Both files and settings" (Recommended option is to transfer both files
and settings)
- Customize
e. Click Next, click OK, and then click Finish. (Be prepared this may take
awhile)

Step two: Please log in under the new account.

a. Click Start, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click
"Files and Settings Transfer Wizard".
b. Click Next, and then click New Computer.
c. Click to select the "I don't need the wizard disk I have already
collected my files and settings from my old computer" check box.
d. Select OTHER then BROWSE
-> browse through this path to retrieve your old files and settings: -> My
Computer
-> Local Hard Drive (C) -> Documents and Settings -> "Old User Profile" ->
Desktop
-> Look for the "migration" folder we created

e. Click OK

f. Click Next (This may take some time)

g. Click Finish.

h. Select YES or No to log off of the computer. The new settings do not
take effect until you log off.

If the issue persists, please run the virus scan on the system after
booting the system into safe mode and check if there is any virus in the
system.

Thank you,

Rashmi
