How the hell do I change media files ending in "UES"?

Sorry, but all this is too much for my sick little brain to cope with!! I've
spent God knows how many hours trying to put a slide show...(with music)
together..should be simple enough..WRONG! My computer tells me that I need to
convert my files to something other than UES..before I can burn my slide
show.(.with music)..no less..onto a CD-RW..It keeps telling me that it can't
make a video with the files I currently have.Someone..somewhere..PLEASE HELP
ME..before I throw my new computer AND myself out of our apartment window!!
