How set up TASKS just for me?

I've used Outlook for years, but never really fooled with TASKS. I'd like to
use it as my scratch pad for all my "to-dos." Problem is I find it fills up
with all kinds of emails that people send me.

Question: How do I set the parameters so that only TASKS that I create show
up in my task list - and NOT useless emails from various senders.

Thanks,

RB

Thanks Judy. Sorry, but how do do these things? I tried the Flagging video
demo but it doesn't help.

thanks

In 2007 there are 3 ways to see Tasks. One of those also shows flagged
emails.

The To Do Bar (in the Calendar) can be turned on by using View | To Do Bar.
The To Do bar settings can be changed to suit you. Once you turn it on,
right click the column heading and Customise it.

The Daily Task List can be turned on by using View | Daily Task List. It's
not very configuable.

You can also see Tasks in your Tasks folder.

What are the other people doing that you find annoying? Are they sending
Task Requests or just emails flagged for action?

Thanks. I'd like to use my TASK list to hold tasks I have to perform -
rather than my usual method of writing on every piece of scrap paper and
yello postit! However whenever I bring up my tasklist it is full of useless
emails that people have sent me that, as you say I guess are flagged for
action. At that point I can't even see my tasks due to all the clutter. the
first thing I'd have to end up doing is trying to get rid of all the tasks
(emails) that I don't want to see. however when I try to delete them from
the task list Outlook tells me it is going to delete the email.

I've started down this path several times and never figured out a way to
keep those emails from evern showing up in my tasklist. that is what i'm
hoping for.

thanks

My tasklist is now full with yesterday's mail. One thing I notice upon
closer inspection, is that the majority of them are from DICE, the job board.
(One of my duties is to act as a recruiter.) I suppose DICE does know what
they are doing and they think they are being helpful. I will call them,
however I doubt they are going to change their policy just for me. Is there
some way I can make a rule that unflags all email as it comes in? I see
there is a rule to FLAG it, but not to UNFLAG it...

thx
