Hello,
Have been moving some of my images in folders to CD, as
they were transfering prior to writing, a window kept
asking me if I wanted to replace the existing Thumbs.db
that had been tranfered with this one, this occured five
or six times! I didn't, just kept the one that went first.
The CD seems OK, but did I do right ignoring all the
other Thumbs.db's and where the dickens did they come
from in the first place?
Thanks for any solution -- Max

You may have been using the same name for your files aka ( Thumbs.db ) in
windows it is neccisary to change the name of the file be transfered or the
original with be overwritten with the file that is named the same.

That's the cache of thumbnails for folders set to thumbnail view. There
is one file for each such folder.

There is a Thumbs.db file in each folder that you have looked at in
Thumbnail view, there to cache the thumbnails for next time you look.
So if you copy several folders, there will be a similar number.
Generally they are doing no good on a CD, so cancel them. You will have
to do so for each folder unless you turn off the whole caching aspect
(but that will then slow opening of folders in Thumbnail view). There
is a check box in Control Panel - Folder Options - View
