How many personel address books can you have in Outlook? I have one and have
tried to create another but It says I already have one. I need a second
email address book. What is the best way? I made a new folder under
contacts but can import into it from outlook express. Nees help

Create as many contact-type folders as you want. Right-click on a
contact-type folder and under the Outlook Address Book tab you'll see
the option to include it in your Outlook Address Book. Just be sure to
name each folder a different name as the address book doesn't understand
the hierarchy of your folders (so folders with the same name will show
with the same name in the address book and you won't know which one you
are using).

Ok, I have a new folder made and it shows up under the address book. I have
my email addresses emported from OL Express but I have a sub folder in
express for a "group" of addresses. I would like to get it into the new OL
folder I made. Is there a way to get it there without getting it tangled up
with my contacts folder.

File->Import. You only get a couple of destinations to import addresses
(to Contacts or Personal). Create a temp subfolder under Contacts
called "Temp". Move your Contacts into Temp. Do the import into
Contacts. Move those into your new subfolder. Move Temp back into
Contacts. Delete the Temp subfolder.

You cannot transfer OE "groups" to Outlook.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head-scratching, Murphy asked this group:

When Vanguard used the term "contact-type folder", he just meant a folder
meant to hold contacts. When you create a new folder in Outlook, you have
to choose what type of items you want it to hold -- for example, mail items,
appointments, tasks, etc.

Outlook cannot import contacts in subfolders from Outlook Express's address
book; it can only import contacts from the main folder, and it's easier to
export from OE to Outlook than import from the Outlook side.
