HOW I CAN CALCULATE FILES IN SUBFORM AND DISPLAY IT ON MAIN FORM

please anyone can help me with this

i have subform , and i calcute the field and i place the total in the footer
and i used this expression
=SUM([AMOUNT PAID]) UNTER TOTAL IN THE FOOTER OF THE SUBFORM I CALL IT HISTOR

THAN I BLACE TEXT BOX AND I WENT TO FORMAT THE FIELD AND I WORTE,
=[HISTOR subform]![TOTAL] BUT I COULD NTO FIND THE RESULT,,

PLEASE ANYONE CAN HELP , VERY URGENT
