An applicatyion does not recognise the special characyers in oe of my
folder names. Too late to change it now.

Want to try 8.3 notation for the folder path + folder name.

How can I see what the 8.3 name for these is?

dir /x

This shows me the sub-folders in 8.3 format.
Is there a way to see the whole path in 8.3?

I want to see 8.3 for one particular folder.

Thank you - Angy

run the old MS-DOS deltree.exe utility to delete a single
temp file or something... when it returns to a prompt,
it'll truncate every folder name in the path to its 8.3
name.

Start|Run|cmd.exe
then navigate to the desired directory then;
command
to shell to the 16 bit command interpreter
