How does this work?

Wondering: Is all the information/emails relating to a
contact "saved" and will they always show up when I
click "activities" (even if I delete them and empty the
deleted folder)? I've been afraid to lose some
correspondence and have been using action/link/item to
make sure it "sticks". I was told by a "support person"
that only Outlook 2003 has that feature and I will indeed
lose the info if I delete it. It seems like its still
there but it may be because I'm "linking" it. Can I save
myself this step and not worry about it?
..

What version of Outlook do you have? In Contacts, when
you click on Activities, nothing is "linked," all it does
is look through emails and appointments, etc. to find a
match, so if you delete those emails, etc, nothing will
come up.

I have Outlook 2002. If I archive all the deletions will
it find them there? I need to keep all the emails as a
record but don't want them in my inbox forever. When
I "link" the email manually from the activities tab in
the contact, does that make it "stick"? Thanks.
