I've got a problem with a few folders in which an error occured preventing me to log in to the user names. A Shared.DLL file was deleted, and I've had to remove the hard drive and move it into another computer in order to pull important files off before I format the drive and start over, however, my book marks and downloaded are in the private user folder in Documents and Settings and I cannot gain access because of the private settings... Is there some way to by pass this in Administrator mode? Or am I basically out of lucky and that folder is in no way accessbile and doomed to be formated

HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP [Q308421]
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=308421

For this to work you need to boot in safe mode (F8) in XP Home.
In XP Professional go to Windows Explorer > Folder options, view tab
and check 'disable simple file sharing.'

Good luck
