I teach Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. I would love to use Power Point in my
presentations. How do i type an exponent.

y = x2 + 4

Should read y = x squared + 4. How do i get the 2 to look like an exponent?

Format/Font and check the option for superscript.

You can put the superscript tool on your toolbar by going to Tools/Customize
and dragging the tool up from the dialog.

The easiest way is to select the 2 and then go to "Format" menu and
"Font" and select "superscript" for the 2.

You can also insert the ² character using the charactermap program, or
by typing ALT+0178 (use numbers on keypad not on main keyboard)

OR you can insert all your expressions using the "microsoft equation
editor" (search the help for it, it may not be installed by default)
which gives the best look to the thing, but can be laborious unless
you're expressions get complex.

Highlight the 2 and press Ctrl-Shift-+ (the "plus" key), or Ctrl-+ for
subscript - at least this works on my German keyboard, I hope it's the same
on yours (if not, search PowerPoint's help for "shortcuts").

Kind regards,
Ute
