Hello,

I'm running XP on a laptop and everytime my cursor hovers over an icon or
filename, etc. it opens it up, without me doing anything. How do I turn this
annoyance off?

Thanks in advance

You may have some kind of special mouse software installed that came with your computer or laptop. Check in Control Panel - Mouse options for some kind of setting that Launches an application after hovering for some given period of time. Also, these settings may be available by double-clicking any mouse-related icons in your system tray or by selected the relevant application from the Start - Programs menu.

I hope this helps.

Folder Options - General page. Select 'Double click to open, single
click Select' at the bottom

Hi,

I already had this item checked off, and there's no special mouse s/w which
I found. I will note when this happens exactly (as it only does it in certain
applications-Outlook being one of them) and may come back w/ an update.

Thanks for your suggestions.
