How do you shut ports?

I have Norton's 2003 Internet Security installed & I have just done the
online security test from Symantic website. All readings were very good
except for the suggestion that hackers could use some ports to access
certain ports. How do I shut these ports?

I wouldn't worry. If the hackers want to get in I don't think norton 2003
will stop them. If you want real peace of mind though, get a hardware
firewall as software ones are just a waste of cpu cycles.
