(For email, remove the obvious from my address)

As long as it is not hotmail. Let say your email address is (e-mail address removed)
then in the pop3 box you would enter "pop.longmail.com" and in the smtp box
you would enter "smtp.longmail.com" both without the quotes.

A generaliztaion that is often incorrect. Other mail carriers have other
ways of naming their servers.

I'm having proplem:

I also have problems, but none of them have to do with Windows Mail, so
they'd be off topic here.

The details depend on which email provider you are trying to use.
Many people choose their internet provider as their email provider
since most internet accounts include one or more email accounts.
Ask your email provider where to find their instructions for setting
up to use their email servers. If they haven't written instructions
for Windows Mail yet, their instructions for Outlook Express
should also work under Windows Mail if they don't call for the
HTTP protocol. The instructions are probably somewhere on their
web site. Or, you could tell us which email provider you want to
use and see if anyone here already knows where to find their
instructions

my comouter keeps saying " The host 'pop3' could not be found. Please verify
that you have entered the server name correctly.
Account: 'robs mail', Server: 'pop3', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D " how do i fix
this what is the server name? please help

"POP3" is not the correct server name.
Your email account provider should have a help page on their website with
the correct email server settings.

Once you get them, click on Tools - Accounts - Add..

Who is your mail provider? Or to ask that question a different way, what
is the part of your email address after the @ symbol?
