How do you resize a program window from safe mode?

I have a laptop. The screen gives a wider view than my desktop. I
booted to safe mode to run AVG. The window was larger than the screen.
I could see enough of it to operate it but I would have liked to be
able to make it smaller to fit the screen.

On the keyboard press ALT SPACE. This will bring up the control menu for
the active window. Choose size on the menu. Then use the arrow keys. The
first press of the arrow key will tell Windows which edge you want to size,
the subsequent presses will move that edge. So if you wanted to resize a
window by making it shorter by bringing the bottom edge up, the key strokes
to follow would be:

ALT SPACE (bring up control menu)
S (select Size on the menu)
Down Arrow (grip the sizer to the bottom edge)
Up arrow repeatedly until the bottom edge is where you want it
ENTER (apply the new size)

Bringing the right edge in would be similar

ALT SPACE
S
Right Arrow
Left Arrow repeatedly
ENTER

You might want to practice in normal Windows (not Safe Mode) where you can
see the entire window before trying to fly blind on this in Safe Mode.
