how do you name the range of data you wish to import?

I am trying to import a spreadsheet into Contacts of Outlook and am getting
the error message "name the range of data you wish to import?" The
spreadsheet was created manually. Any advice?

Highlight all the data you have, then right-click in the highlighted area
and choose name range (Excel 2007 - other versions might be different...)
