how do you make a single page a full website

I am using a single page template, I edited it in FP, but now I want to make
it my index page and add a whole website to it. I tried starting a new
website and importing it in, then making it the new index page but the
template got all out of wack, missing graphics, all out of line, any ideas?

There are most likely other files you also need to import into your web,
such as images, css, etc.
