Hi

I have a number of self made characters and I have read on a site
_________________________________________________
These "self-made" Chinese chartacters will work only on the machine, they
were created, unless you save them into a separate font-file and distribute
it together with your document.

How is this possible and do I need a full set of characters (as many as in a
font) or can I do it with just a few?

Thanks in advance

Dave Neve

if you are using WinXP, input Chinese characters is built in
go to Control panel, add the language and keyboard support

Hi

I've now looked at this and thank you for indicating it to me.
But I am not sure it is what I need.
The chracters seem to be a full set of Chinese or Japanese characters while
I was talking about 'characters' in the sense of 'special characters I have
created myself (not Chinese or Japanese)

How could I incorporate my characters into a font file?

Thanks

Your Win XP comes with a utility that may do what you need.
It is called "Private Character Editor"
I have not tried it, cannot say if it is user-friendly, but it seems to
promise what you are seeking. Its location is:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\eudcedit.exe
