How do you embed a diagram in word so that it prints?

I have created two diagrams in a word document but they do not print. Only
the 3 pages of text print leaving gaps where the diagrams are. What am I
doing wrong?
 
Is the "Drawing Objects" box checked in the Tools|Options|Print dialog (or
you can access the option via File|Print|Options...) ?
