How do I view the clipboard in Win XP Pro?

Hello all:

Am wondering how I can view the clipboard contents in Windows XP? TIA for
any help with this.

Perform the afterward:

1. Right-click on your Desktop and select: NEW > SHORTCUT
2. In the Create Shortcut window, type in: CLIPBRD.EXE , and click "Next"
3. In the next window, type in: ClipBoard Viewer , and click "Finish"
4. A ClipBoard Viewer shortcut icon will appear on your Desktop.

I tried both this way and start run enter CLIPBRD.EXE and both say there is
no such file. I have Windows XP. What do I do now?

try add/remove programs, windows components..

you get the standard dialog box you got when installing windows 98
offering you to add whatever features you want.

under accessories..details.. clipboard viewer is there, just make a
tick next to it. Have you windows cd at hand.
 
Well, at least I found it...but when I downloaded it, it didn't appear on my
desktop as I expected...will keep trying to download. thank you very much.
 
All reputable computer manufacturers provide restoration CDs with the
computer when delivered. If you threw it out with the "dish water," you
should contact the manufacturer for a replacement copy.

here is where the file is
c:\windows\system32\clipbrd.exe

maybe you can go to a friend's computer and get it

By far your biggest mistake and your biggest problem, is having windows
without a cd. I'm not talking about legalitles.. But it's common to
have problems in windows and you have to reinstall or repair - you do
that from the cd.. Or as you see, you need to install new windows
components from the cd.
I once decided never ever to run any operating system if I didn't have
the CD for it handy.

That is a far bigger problem that not havign access to the clipboard.
And coincidentally, if you have win xp installed properly, selecting
the components you need, then you will have the clipboard viewer. By
the way, clipboard viewer is so useless it doesn't even appear in the
start menu.

You want to view what is in the clipboard, paste it in paintbrush or ms
word or notepad. Depending on what it is - text or picture.
clipboard viewer, i don't think people really have much use for..
