How do I unlock selections?

I downloaded this program as a trial (I thought) maybe it was downloaded like
I really wanted it, but it never asked for a cc etc... At any rate I used it
last night (word program) it was fine. This morning I pulled up documents
and I can't type anything, copy, cut etc... the document. Everytime I try it
states that I can't do such at the selection is locked? How can it get it to
unlock?
 
Did you activate Word? Click on the Pizza button and choose Word Options,
resources tab where you will find the Activate option.
