How do I UNDELETE an attachment in Outlook 2003?

I have received a message with an attachment. In attempting to save the
attachment by right-clicking on it I accidentally hit REMOVE instead of SAVE
AS... It has vanished. Can I get it back? How?

(and I'm not too happy about (a) the fact that SAVE and REMOVE are right
next to each other, and (b) not being asked "Are you sure?" when I hit the
wrong one by mistake!)

I don't think it can be recovered but if you know the file name, do a search
on your entire hard drive in the event the file was copied to a temporary
directory during some event (opening, etc). Make sure you search hidden
directories & such

Even with the searching of hidden files and folders enabled, if the only
copy is in the Outlook Secure Temporary Folder, it still won't be found
because Windows Explorer treats the Temporary Internet Files folder
differently that other folders.

Thanks for the replies! Further discovery... I had not closed the message
whose attachment I had deleted (thinking it might be safer not to) - and when
I finally gave up and closed it, Outlook asked me "Do you want to save
changes?" I said NO, and (hey presto) the attachment reappeared. I had
already been doing things like <CTRL>Z, to no avail. A happy ending, but a
pretty clunky experience...

Perhaps this is something that you should suggest in this discussion group.

When clicking NEW, instead of clicking question, click suggestion for
microsoft.

If enough people read it and agree (showing that they do by clicking the "I
aggree" button at the bottom of the post, Microsoft will read the post and
consider making small changes (like the one you suggest) availible in future
updates.

No need for a suggestion - the file is not removed for good until it's
saved - just close the message without saving it.
